Portugal - An Overview

Portugal is a stunning country… mile after mile of golden sands, rugged promontories, stylish resorts, mouth-watering local food and drink, ancient cities, magnificent mountain ranges… very friendly people… and a very comfortable climate!

If it’s sporting action you are after, you’re in the right place. There’s something for everyone: the very best in golf, first rate tennis schools, big game fishing, scuba diving and snorkelling, sailing, water skiing, wind surfing – the list is endless.

But if you’d rather take it easy, why not wander around some of the many World Heritage sites – the Romans and Moors have left plenty to explore. Or take in a country fair and craft market? Or stroll around one of the many pretty, white-painted villages? And having watched the fisher folk mend their nets alongside gaily painted fishing boats, visit a local bar to sample the grilled sardines and a fresh salad, all washed down with a superb local wine.
